I didn’t realize snacks were what was burning me out

Hello Reader,

It's Jess here today, coming in for story time!

A few years ago, I realized something that surprised me.

I love cooking. Always have.

But somewhere along the way, I wasn’t enjoying it anymore.

At first, that made me feel sad. Cooking had always been my thing. The creative outlet. The part of my day that felt grounding. And suddenly, it felt heavy.

It took me a bit to figure out why.

The problem wasn’t cooking itself.
The problem was all the thinking that came before it.

Every afternoon, my brain would start spinning:
"What are we having for dinner?"
"What do I have in the fridge?"
"What will the kids actually eat?"

By the time I figured it out, I was already exhausted.

Then it hit me: I had fallen out of the habit of meal planning.

So I started again. Nothing fancy. Just a simple plan.

And almost instantly, my enjoyment of cooking came back. I wasn’t making “better” meals. I just wasn’t wasting all my energy deciding what to make.

That’s when I noticed the same thing was happening with snacks.

Every day, the mental checklist:
“They had yogurt yesterday, so I should probably switch it up today…”
“Maybe energy balls?”
“Do we need something with iron?”

It was constant. And tiring.

So I did what I do best—I made a plan!

I created a toddler snack plan that took the decision-making out of my day. A plan that:

  • Rotates snacks so you’re not second-guessing yourself
  • Balances nutrients without tracking or stress
  • Uses real, normal foods you already recognize
  • Gives your brain a break

That’s how the Toddler Snack Plan was born.

If snacks feel harder than they should, this might be exactly what you need.

Hello Reader, Beef! It’s what’s for… snack! Wait — snack?! Yep, you read that right! We know you were thinking dinner. Maybe lunch. Possibly even breakfast. But snack?! Have we gone crazy? Nope. And here’s why. Somewhere along the line we’ve majorly lost the plot when it comes to snack time. The word ‘snack’ has become synonymous with food that comes in crinkly little packages. Instead, we want to bring it back to its original meaning: a mini meal used to bridge large gaps between main meals....
