Is dessert going to ruin my kid? Help! 😫

Hello Reader,

We're sending you this awesome email in paid partnership with the Canadian Sugar Institute. Thanks to them, we get to talk to you about how we navigate desserts. As always, all opinions are our own.

So...can we tell you a little secret?

In our homes, dessert isn’t something our kids have to earn. It’s not a reward, a bargaining chip, or something we stress over.

But we've realized it’s actually a source of stress for many of you:

Here’s what surprises many parents: when dessert is predictable and pressure-free, it often loses its allure. Kids don’t feel the need to sneak or overeat, and parents get to step out of the food police role. The table feels calmer.

That’s why we wrote our newest blog post — not to scare you about sugar or give strict rules, but to share how dietitian moms think about dessert, talk about it, and make room for it in real life.

We’d love to know — what was dessert like in your house growing up? Hit reply, and let us know. We always love hearing from you.

Best wishes this seasons,
